Mariusz Krawczyk

Mariusz Krawczyk graduated from The Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków at the painting faculty under Prof. Lucjan Ząbkowski in 1994. Since then he’s an author of many individual and group exhibitions. He is fascinated by dark, open spaces. Painting in oil technique he creates multi-layered surfaces consisting of thick texture, interpenetrating lines, and paint smudges, vast homogenous spaces, and delicate details. All this forms multi-dimensional, atmospheric landscapes.

He participated in group shows among others in Krakow, Warsaw, Gdańsk, Brussels, Birmingham, Strasburg, Seul, and Frankfurt. He received third prize at the Bielska Jesień art contest in 1995.

“This was an environment built, not for man, but for man’s absence.”
